In my opinion the internet is a valuable resource for all ages. For younger students it needs to be used with strong supervision. As the student gets older then it can be used with less supervision. When the student is young the internet can be a place for many interesting games and learning situations. As they get older it can be used for research and learning extensions as well as recreation.
Wikipedia can be a learning resource if the student is well aware of the problems that can arise from it. They neeed to understand that it is not always the most reliable resource. That it is open to change from sources that are not validified prior to publication. As are published sources.
We covered Power Point which if used correctly can be a valuable resource in the classroom. Power Point allows you to add a multimedia experience to your teaching to your students. However if used poorly then the students will be bored or to overstimulated. They will not gain the information they should and it will prove a disservice.
